Letting Go and Unplugging

living your yoga Dec 06, 2025

I want to share something personal today—something I know many of you understand in your own way.

For the last few years, I’ve been living in the in-between. After decades of leading, teaching, creating, and showing up in the public eye, I stepped away. What began as a one year sabbatical is now going on year four of listening… and redesigning my life as I've known it.

I’ve been wrestling — kicking and screaming at times  with this transition into "retirement". Not because I’m done serving, but because I’m shifting into a new paradigm and redefining how I’m meant to serve next.

After 40+ years of being the pioneer, the trend setter, the  trailblazing guide, I’m finally meeting the part of myself that’s ready to embrace a new rhythm. I’ll be honest, it's not easy. Wisdom keeps whispering “release, let go” and every time I think I’ve done that, life shows me yet another layer to shed.

I’ve let go of my studio, my home, my belongings, my lifelong community, my work as I've known it  — and just recently had the epiphany that I also need to let go of my past identity.

Maybe you know that feeling. That liminal space between chapters. That “rock and a hard place” sensation where you know something is ending, but the next beginning hasn’t quite taken shape.

If you’re there too… I'd love to know.

The world pushes us to reinvent fast, to market ourselves loudly, to keep feeding the machine. And the truth is: I’m tired of the noise. I’m tired of chasing momentum. I’m tired of performing when my soul is asking for something quieter, truer, deeper.

So I’m making a shift. A real one.

Step one - unplug from Social MediaI want to focus my energy where I can offer depth instead of distraction, quality instead of scrambling, presence instead of pressure.

Good bye to Instagram and Facebook.  A welcome holiday break to sink into family and my Costa Rica home. If I return at all, it seems Facebook is the better, simpler connection.

What's your opinion? I'd love to hear from you.

Here’s what I’m saying YES to:

• Writing these weekly Love Letters to offer nourishing practices and inspiration
• Creating meaningful practices on my YouTube channel (please subscribe)
• Offering guidance that feels grounded and sustainable
• Serving at a pace that honors this new simple, soulful season of my life

And because nothing lights me up quite like being in the room together, I’ll continue offering live gatherings when the timing feels right. Retreats, workshops, circles — those in-person moments are still my favorite way to connect, so keep an eye out for future opportunities.

Is this YOU?

Maybe this transition will inspire your own shift.
Maybe it’s time to let go of an old identity.
Maybe you’re feeling the nudge to create a quieter, more intentional life.
Maybe you’re ready to release something, too.

If you are — let's connect and walk along this path together, listening to divine guidance for the journey ahead.
