Identity Shift Anyone?

living your yoga Jun 02, 2025

Have you ever taken a sabbatical?

I did. As many of you know, I took a year off to be a gramma and get a new hip… and it turned into three years.

Three years of stripping things back. I left my longtime home in Bozeman. Moved to a small town where nobody knew me. Changed my name. Let go of my business. And spent a whole lot of time in the Costa Rican jungle.

During that time, I dove deep into the Art of Ritual, the science and technology of Prayer, Holotropic breathwork, and the healing gifts of plant medicine—both psychoactive, everyday herbal remedies and purely organics. I studied. I listened. I let go.

I asked myself: Who am I now? What’s next?
I felt a call to express new ways of being, seeing, and speaking.

I still love the transformational practices of yoga and Ayurveda—but I also felt boxed in by the traditional yoga teacher training model. I knew something new wanted to come through, but I wasn’t yet sure how to speak it.

That one year of rest became three years of deep inner exploration.
I continued holding space for others—both in my little studio in Nevada City and through my Costa Rica retreats—but something inside me kept stirring. A quiet but persistent yearning for more…

More magic.
More connection.
More simplicity.
More soul expression.

It wasn’t until I spent four months immersed in the wilds of the Osa Peninsula this winter—where I was called into a new position of leadership—that I felt my mojo working again. The clarity came in strong:

Listen to my inner voice of wisdom.
Trust divine feminine guidance.
Speak truth—with kindness and courage.
Express my joy—fully and freely.
Lead with empowered devotion to living a sacred, embodied life.

That’s when Simple Soulful Living became my "rebrand" for guiding me forward in all of my offerings.

How can I keep it Simple?

Is this feeding my Soul?

It’s more than a name. It’s a recalibration. A way of walking through life with my values front and center. I'm shifting how I teach and how I lead—bringing forward what I’ve practiced and embodied over decades, but offering it now through a more poetic, creative, and yes—wilder lens.

This identity shift is still emerging. And it takes courage—this raw, honest revealing of who we are at our core. But this is what leadership means to me now.

I’m here as a guide, a channel of wisdom and support for women who are feeling this same call. Women ready to shift into a more conscious, creative, and soulful way of being.

Yes—to the systems and practices of ancient wisdom.
Yes—to the science of movement, breath, and meditation.
And a big, soulful YES—to discovering your own way of integrating these teachings so you can live a fully expressed, passionate, purposeful life.

This is the path I’m on.
And if it calls to you too—let’s dance together.

With love and devotion,
