Do you feel it? The twix in between.
Outside, the leaves are hinting at autumn’s gold, yet the air still clings to summer’s heat. We are neither here nor there—not fully in fall, not quite out of summer. This is the nature of transition: the in-between, the betwixt.
And isn’t this also what midlife feels like?
We are no longer the women we once were—defined by roles, responsibilities, or routines of the past—yet we are not fully living into the wise, wild future that calls us forward. We are walking that liminal bridge between identities.
The betwixt and between can feel uncomfortable, even disorienting. But it is also a place of alchemy and becoming. Like the trees, we are preparing to release what no longer serves, even while we bask in the lingering warmth of what once sustained us.
Instead of rushing through the in-between, can we pause here to reflect and listen?
Can we honor both the blaze of what was and the bounty of what’s becoming?
Can we trust that this awkward season is a passage into our most authentic expression?
Because here’s the truth: Midlife is a season of paradox. We’re not who we were, but not yet who we’re becoming. We are the bridge—betwixt and between—learning to honor our past while stepping into the role of elder, guide, and wise woman.
And if you’re feeling that tug of “Wait, me—the elder? but I feel so invisable"… you’re in exactly the right place. It's a time of stepping into an initiation of our soul's next calling and be joyfully yourself—wrinkles, wisdom, wildness and all.
I’m living it too—quite literally. As I write, I’m packing my bags, clearing my house, and preparing to step onto a plane for a month in Costa Rica. I’ll be visiting family, teaching yoga, tending to final touches for our February retreat, and giving myself the gift of a few unplugged days for my own soul renewal. I’m between places and perspectives, moving through the same liminal space I invite you to honor in yourself.
How might you step more visibly into your own wisdom right now?
