When the Soul feels at Home

My mantra this week is thank you, thank you, thank you.

I’ve landed in Costa Rica, and my soul feels at home. Even though it’s a little chilly up here up in Chirripó, the warmth of family is undeniable. We are a four-generation tribe nestled in the foothills, housed in three casitas within walking distance of each other along the Chirripó River.

Casa Azul—home for us two grammas—has become our gathering place. It’s where we share meals, make music, play games, practice yoga, and tell stories. Love and laughter fills our days as we await the arrival of the next family member. I've postponed this Sunday love letter until Thursday as family time as been my priority. I can cheerfully say , baby arrived Earth-side last night! Wow, what a miracle.

And now, I’m allowing myself deep rest and recreation with my 3 year old grandson who joyfully witnessed the arrival of his brother. It's time to recalibrate my nervous system after two weeks of non-stop packing, cleaning and preparing for my 5-month departure from the states, I’m remembering how to do nothing… and thoroughly enjoy the sweetness of letting go.

The decision to unplug from social media is already providing beneficial results to my state of mind.  I feel the release of a constant nudge to record images, reels and messages. Instead, I'm dropping into  pure presence with where I am and who I’m with—in real time, in real life.

May you, too, find many unplugged moments with your loved ones—and with yourself, especially during this holy day season.

After offering last week's Salutation A, I'm happy to offer the traditional practice of Salutation B with many modifications leading up to the full traditional flow.  These two practices together will align your spine, open your joints, and strengthen the muscles that support postural integrity.  As you repeat the sequence you can let your mind go as you witness the awakening of body and soul.
