Meet Blanca & Her Magic

It’s that time of year again—colors burst forth in the forest, the rain begins to fall, the darkness stretches a little longer each day, and the cool breath of autumn reminds us to rest. I find myself hunkering in, sleeping nine hours a night, simmering pots of beef stew, and sipping ginger tea to ward off the sniffles that come from playing with my grandson and all his little friends.

It’s a sweet season to turn inward—to home and hearth, to the warmth of family and friendship.

Today, I’d love to introduce you to a very dear friend of mine, Blanca Margarita. She lives on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica, and over the years, she has become an integral part of my retreats—sharing her deep wisdom and love for cacao through heartfelt ceremony.

Blanca brings such reverence to her craft. She recently created a beautiful video on Harvesting Cacao that takes you behind the scenes into the cultivation, production, and soulful care that go into each bean of this sacred plant medicine. Her songs—written and sung from the heart—carry the same warmth and joy that cacao itself brings.
