Birthing with Enthusiasm

living your yoga Dec 08, 2025

This life I’ve chosen—or the life that keeps choosing me—continues to unfold in the most enchanting ways. A few days ago, we emerged from the birthing portal of bringing little Katari into the world through my "soul daughter," Emma. A 48-hour journey of devotion, surrender, and deep initiation. Every birth is so unique and is such a testament to the power of the feminine.

Today, we celebrate another birth—33 years since I birthed my own daughter. What amazes me most is witnessing the evolution of our lineage through her life. I see my own whispered dreams now being lived more fully in her expanded life. She walks with a freedom and creative expression that the generations before us could barely imagine. It is a blessing to watch her embody what we once felt yet couldn't express.

Throughout this year of the Snake, the symbolism of shedding old skin has been very much alive in me. Wriggling out of familiar patterns and long held beliefs has not been easy. I've faced deep attachments to shed the light on what no longer fits. With some discomfort, great effort, and full faith, this letting go is making room for something new. My mantra of simplicity is taking shape in reality. More details forthcoming.

For today, I settle into the present moment held by our intimate family and a community of kindred spirits here in Costa Rica, embracing the beauty of birth as an ongoing process. Birthing the next version of one's Self, the next dream, the next way of being.

And so I invite you to reflect with me:

  • What old skin is asking to be shed?

  • What part of your past path no longer fits who you’re becoming?

  • What dream within you might be ready to be born… or born again

May you embrace these truths with enthusiasm in it's fullest translation:

The word comes from the Greek: enthousiasmos → en (“in”) + theos (“god”)  So the original meaning was: “to be inspired or possessed by a god,” or “to have the divine within.”

In ancient Greece, someone who showed great passion, joy, or inspired action was believed to be filled with divine energy — god-touched, lit from within, moved by spirit.

Over time, the meaning softened into:“intense enjoyment, eager interest, inspired excitement.” But its roots are still alive in how we use it today.

When we feel enthusiasm, we are quite literally lit up by something larger than ourselves — a spark of the sacred moving through us.

YOGA | Wake Up Your Feet

Some of you may have experienced a series of practices I call "YOGA HEAD TO TOE". I taught them in a live series several times. Now I'm recording them for your personal home practice. We begin at the toes and will work our way up through the key focal points of our body addressing functional movement and mindful modifications. Enjoy.
